| Notes
|
Since
October 11th, 1999, Microsoft has formed an alliance with more than 200
companies (IBM, HP, Compaq, INTEL,...) to create the TCPA: Trusted Computing
Plateform Alliance. The goal is to put on the market a new generation
of computers equipped with a TCPA chip that makes it possible to control
the access and the use of computers, via the Internet, from a control
center held by private or public bodies. Officially, the purpose of the
TCPA is to put an end to piracy. The truth is that, behind this well-intentioned
measures in favor of copyright and computer trust, this system puts disproportionate
censure and control power in the hands of a private lobby. |
